Points to be aware of on High Protein Weight-Loss Diets
Posted by Jacqui under Cancer , Depression , Diabetes , Heart Disease , Weight Loss
High Protein Diets are good in the way that they build lean muscle.
Increased muscle on our body speeds up our metabolism, giving us more energy to enjoy,
and at the same time burning the energy belt we may be carrying in excess.
Increased muscle also will sustain our weight maintenance once we have got to our goal
weight, as it will continue to burn energy naturally, and keep the weight off - as long as we are watching what we are eating.
High Protein Diets like the Atkins Diet focus mainly on Animal Protein.
Now is this a good or a not so good thing?
Animal proteins carry a lot of fat from the animals, that includes meat, dairy and even eggs. Did you know that the egg yolk carries a lot of cholesterol? So if we are after lean protein, we should only consume the egg white.
If we take into consideration all the growth hormones fed to the animals to plump them up, did you ever stop to think that this is being passed on to us too?
Today many people suffer from hormone related illnesses, and we wonder why.
Breast cancer, prostrate cancer, depression, to name just a few.
Have you ever stopped to think about other sources of protein, being vegetable protein?
Did you know that our bodies only absorb 50% of animal proteins, where does the
rest go to? It becomes acid waste in our bodies, which can build up over time and
start to cause toxins and ill health over time. This can slowly leach out essential minerals from our bones like calcium, causing the bones to weaken over time.
Excess protein is also stored as extra fat and cholesterol,
it burdens our liver and kidneys, and many other areas of our body.
Whereas with vegetable protein, our bodies absorb 100% of the protein,
leaving no waste, and our bodies benefit from all of the protein.
Soy products are high in protein and a great substitute for animal protein.
If you look at our friends in the East, who live on vegetable proteins, their rates
of heart disease, diabetes, cancer and obesity are far lower in number than that
of the Western world, where we enjoy a diet full of animal protein to say the least.
If our bodies absorb 100% of vegetable protein, they will run like cars that are well
serviced, with clean efficient fuel. How good would that feel?
Vegetable protein is more easily digestable, more affordable, and helps
prevent cancer, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes and combats obesity.
To find out more about the Top Ten Vegetable Protein Sources, come back in a few
days, where I will reveal a little more.
I did say I would introduce you to my friend, Mike, who has his weight-loss blog,
pay him a visit to see how he is progressing with his challenge and leave him a
